    At HELP SPEAKS, we believe healing begins when people feel heard.

    HELP SPEAKS is dedicated to creating a safe and affirming therapeutic space where healing is heard, stories are honored, and individuals and families are supported in reclaiming their strength, stability, and hope. We recognize that every person carries a unique story shaped by relationships, experiences, culture, and resilience. Our work centers on compassion, collaboration, and respect for the courage it takes to seek support.

    Through trauma-informed and culturally responsive therapy, we partner with clients to strengthen emotional safety, deepen connection, and build practical tools for lasting change. Whether navigating life transitions, relational challenges, anxiety, depression, or the effects of past trauma, we strive to provide care that is ethical, empowering, and grounded in evidence-based practice.

    Our vision is to foster communities where voices are valued, families are strengthened across generations, and healing is accessible and inclusive. HELP SPEAKS envisions a future where cycles of pain are transformed into legacies of resilience, and where emotional well-being becomes a foundation for stability, growth, and hope.

Our work is grounded in compassion, cultural responsiveness, and evidence-based care that supports emotional well-being and strengthens relationships.

    We believe that everyone has the capacity to live a happy and fulfilling life. Because mental and emotional wellness are essential to overall health, we view therapy as a powerful pathway for growth, healing, and balance. Through supportive, client-centered care, we help individuals and families build resilience, develop healthy coping strategies, and create meaningful, lasting change.

    Our Services

    We offer a range of counseling services designed to support the unique needs of individuals, couples, and families. Our goal is to create a warm, supportive, and collaborative environment where clients feel safe exploring life’s challenges, strengthening resilience, and developing healthier patterns in their lives and relationships.


    To provide the best possible care, we draw from a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches and thoughtfully tailor them to each client’s individual or family needs. These approaches may include Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Strength-Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Family and Marital Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy.


    Our aim is to help clients gain deeper insight, strengthen relationships, build practical coping skills, and experience greater emotional balance and well-being.

    Meet the Therapist

      

    Natalie Akins, MS, MA, AMFT 

    Natalie Akins is a Marriage and Family Therapist (under the supervision of Connie Crossley, LMFT) that is committed to supporting individuals, couples, adolescents, and families through compassionate, relationally grounded care. She holds a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Master of Science in Psychology. Natalie is also a certified facilitator for PREPARE/ENRICH and SYMBIS, equipping couples with tools to strengthen connection and build resilient foundations. Natalie is a Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy.  

    Natalie’s passion lies in understanding the family system as a whole. She approaches therapy through a systemic lens, recognizing that challenges rarely exist in isolation. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, she thoughtfully explores relational patterns, generational influences, and environmental stressors that shape each person’s experience. She is particularly attentive to identifying the true “identified client,” understanding that sometimes the individual carrying the most visible distress may not be the only one in need of healing.  

    Natalie’s work is rooted in compassion, trauma-informed practice, cultural responsiveness, and a deep respect for each client’s lived experience. Natalie believes therapy should be a space of safety, collaboration, and empowerment not judgment.  

    At the heart of her practice is a simple but powerful belief:

    You are not alone.
    You matter deeply.
    And the challenges you face do not define who you are.

    Struggles with mental health or relational conflict are only part of your story not the whole of it. Natalie believes that within each individual, couple and family is the capacity for growth, resilience, and transformation. Hardship does not diminish your worth; it can shape strength, clarity, and renewed purpose.

    Natalie is honored to walk alongside clients as they navigate anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm. Through evidence-based interventions and compassionate presence, she supports clients in reclaiming their voice, strengthening their relationships, and growing into the fullness of their potential.

Our teletherapy services let you connect with licensed therapists from the comfort and privacy of your home through secure, HIPAA-compliant video sessions, offering the same quality care as in-office appointments. This flexible option makes therapy more accessible for individuals, couples, and families while maintaining a safe, confidential, and supportive environment.
